Mise en Place ("the app," "the extension") is a personal meal planning tool. This policy explains what data is stored and how it is handled.
The app stores only the content you explicitly enter:
This data is stored in a private database account (Supabase) associated with your unique account ID. No one else has access to your data.
When you use the Clip button in the Chrome extension, the extension reads the content of the current webpage to extract recipe information. This happens only when you explicitly trigger it. The page content is processed to extract recipe text and is not stored or transmitted beyond saving the recipe to your personal account.
The app includes an AI chat assistant powered by Anthropic's Claude. When you use the chat, your message and a summary of your recipes and food log are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data. No conversation history is stored by the app beyond the current session.
Your data is stored using Supabase, a cloud database service. Data is associated with a randomly generated account ID stored locally on your device. You can view Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
Your account is identified by a randomly generated ID (e.g. user_abc123) stored in your browser's local storage. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, you can re-enter your account ID in the Sync panel to restore access to your data.
You can delete individual items at any time within the app. To delete all your data, contact us and we will remove your account from the database.
This app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
